With over 20 years of experience teaching students of all ages, Jim Jacoby teaches to share his love and enjoyment of music.

Jim’s goal is to give students an appreciation for all styles of music while improving their reading, listening, and performance skills.

Much attention is given to the expressive nature of music, and Jim gives students the tools to facilitate that expression.

Jim’s strength is in knowing what learning styles work best for each student. Plus, he is the ideal combination of personal and professional. He has an open mind and the versatility to be able to deal with any type of repertoire for every type of student. 

Beyond teaching, Jim has spent countless years as a piano accompanist and music director who has worked with numerous theater directors, voice teachers, actors, singers, and students.

Jim graduated from Syracuse University with a B.A. in Fine Arts/Music History.
