The Lesson Experience

Fun first! I greatly respect the individuality of each student, and enjoy helping to find the best music path possible. Building rapport with each student and each student family is very important to me.

Lessons are reading- and listening-focused. Students are regularly learning new pieces while continuing to integrate the nuanced details of recent assignments.

To meet each student’s individual needs, I help select relevant repertory and exercises. Styles include classical, jazz, Broadway and pop.  I have compiled extensive music libraries, both print and digital. Over time, I assist students in building and organizing their own libraries of music.
